What
an impressive victory by the Supreme Syndications
filly High Spire at Gosford yesterday! Having only
her 2nd race start and ridden by Jay Ford, High Spire
had to do it the hard way after drawing the outside
barrier and sitting wide for the entire journey, High
Spire drew away in the straight for a comprehensive
victory by 1 and a 1/4 lengths.
Trained
by Randwick mentor Joseph Pride, High Spire is a daughter
of Iglesia and was syndicated by Frank Galluzzo of
Supreme Syndications. Frank said she always showed
the group plenty of ability but with EI and immaturity
she was only having her 2nd start today as a 3YO.
High
Spire looks destined for bigger things after that
win today with ultimate goal to get this outstanding
filly competing and winning in the fillies black type
events.

At the conclsion of New Zealand Bloodstock's National
Yearling Sale Series Elvstroem had averaged $200,000
for five sold. As the finishing touches are applied
to Elvstroem’s first crop yearlings for the

of the five-time Group 1 winning son of Danehill.
With just a handfull of yearlings on offer in New
Zealand, sales of NZ$350,000, $260,000 and $210,000
highlighted the impression that Elvstroem’s
progeny made on the buying bench there. Amongst those
signing for purchases were respected New Zealand agents
Michael Wallace and Tony Pike and Hong Kong agents
Worldwide Bloodstock, as well as the NSW-based trainer
Brett Cavanough and significantly inaugural Hall of
Fame inductee JB ‘Bart’ Cummings, who
went to $260,000 to secure the colt out Pencarrow
